Somatic Ecstatic, founded by Kimberly Beroset, is a transformative, conscious, ecstatic and expressive dance experience designed to:
- Get your blood and heart pumping and energy flowing
- Explore dance as a healing art (non-performance)
- Help you explore your mind-body-emotion connection
- Raise your vibration (make you feel more alive!)
- Become compassionately self aware
- Find and enhance your creativity, intuition and joyfulness
- Assist you to tap into your body’s innate wisdom in your own personal journey towards healing and health
- Connect you to a supportive dancing community

Dance-Inspired Writing by Mary Ellen Carges, my colleague in Buffalo, NY, about her program and love Dance Meditation (is similar to Somatic Ecstatic-view her amazing video!).
“Dance Meditation allows me to be the mistress of my life, a goddess in relation to the wholeness of the Divine, an artist painting an ever changing landscape of my life story. The greens and reds, oranges and purples of my chakras move into patterns of my paradigm. Rhythm moves me effortlessly into the realm of body, soul, and spirit. I am allowed to fiercely embrace mystery with passion and fearlessness. The darkness and unknown become secret tools to be integrated and worked with, in the journey of the warrior woman. My breath becomes the loving focal point of invitation and release. Movement and expression blossoms into cherished gestures that give love, beg forgiveness, and empower spirit.
I float and flow, sink and fly, trudge, skip, leap and stumble; twirl, whirl, reach and stretch, stomp, undulate, shake and shimmy; pulse, twist, open, crunch and crumble; sway, rock, gesture, expand and contract, all in a glorious prayer that reaches the deepest core of my being. Getting lost in energy and allowing this opening to the soul leads me into a powerful shamanic experience.
I feel connected. In dance, I become the elements: earth, water, fire, air, and connect deeply with nature’s message to my being. I flow and float into the swirling and gentle questions and experience the way around, under and through the boulders in my life. I experience the cleansing of water movements. I dance the fire in my belly which inspires me, and gifts me the awakening of wonder. I allow the purification and empowerment of fire. Earth movement grounds my being and nourishes my spirit, connecting me with all of life. Like a thirsty seedling, I sink my roots into earth’s pulse and grow. Air – spirit, lifts my soul and allows me to take off in flight, fearless and trusting in the miracle of me. I observe what I really have to say. I allow doors to open. My vulnerability becomes my strength. I surrender to the rhythm of my heart beat and I resurrect with the greening grace of my spirit. The energy of the elements leads me on in the melodic winding dance path of life. This is the sacred journey, to soul, the gift of intuition – birthright of every woman. I realize there is no greater healing – anywhere - than my own inner shaman.
I dance my way through searing pain and find peace, through ecstatic joy and take flight, through deepest sorrow and grief, and find acceptance and comfort. I am able to observe my feelings and move energy and emotion through this body until the place of stillness – acceptance without judgment – transformation! I find myself in new places with new feeling, and new awareness. When I leave this sacred dance space I walk into the world not only healed, but as healer. The gift I received in transformation becomes my gift to the world. So I beckon you to join me in the dance! I invite you to Come… Dance… BE!”
