PRIVATE/SEMI-PRIVATE CLASSES AND TRADITIONAL YOGA THERAPY

Mind-body movement therapies are offered at our new office location in Martinez/Augusta, or locations in North Augusta, Aiken and Grovetown.

TRADITIONAL YOGA THERAPY – Use breathing techniques, classic yoga postures and warm-ups to help strengthen, stretch and open the body. Releases physical and emotional stress. Your yoga therapist will work with you to design a daily at home practice that can help you reach a specific goal such as less back pain, weight loss, overall body wellness or any kind of specific injury that needs extra loving care. Beginners will learn how to practice yoga safely. Active yoga therapy is a great compliment to traditional Western medicine. Individual and couples offered. Couples active yoga therapy offers tips and tricks on how to support each other to enhance your at home yoga practice and experience.

PRIVATE/SEMI PRIVATE YOGA CLASSES AND PARTIES – Private one-on-one or very small group instruction are great options to better understand detailed and safe body mechanics for your specific body needs and limitations (injuries). This also enables you to ask very specific questions about yoga postures and warm-ups and receive physical assistance from the yoga teacher.

MIND-BODY MOVEMENT THERAPIES

Mind-body movement therapies are offered at our new office location in Martinez/Augusta, or locations in Columbia, North Augusta, Aiken and Grovetown.

WHAT ARE MIND-BODY MOVEMENT THERAPIES? -  Mind-body movement therapies allow the client to access whole body healing, stress release, and self awareness through exploration of the relationship between the body and the mind. Your mind-body movement therapist guides you by (1) assisting you to create an intention or goal for your session, (2) coaching you through movement, personal self reflection, and other exploration techniques and (3) helping you to apply what you’ve learned in your session to your every day life.

  • Somatic Movement and Expressive Therapy – Somatic movement and expressive therapy enables you to understand the mind-body relationship through body-centered psychotherapy techniques, movement, vocalization, journaling, expressive arts, and a client-centered and personal self reflective process.  This therapy uses the whole body and all its senses as a vehicle to become more aware of stressors in your daily life that manifest as tension and illness in the body.  Techniques and tools are explored to release this tension, moving towards a balanced state of wholeness and wellness. Individual and couples therapy available. (Kimberly is currently in the final mentorship intensive for this type of therapy and is considered a Somatic Expressive Therapy Practitioner in Training. Mentorship clients are being accepted at this time.)
  • Move Your Meditation™ - Explore contemplative movement, creative expression through movement and conscious dance (non-performance based) as a vehicle for exploring the mind-body connection. Practiced with a sole internal focus. Your therapist will guide you through movement and a client-centered and personal self reflective process. Individuals and couples therapy available.
  • Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy – Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy (PRYT) provides you the opportunity to experience supported stretching through classic yoga postures and other body movements coupled with a client-centered and personal self reflective process.  Very effective for exploring and understanding “the issues in the tissues.” Individual therapy only. (Kimberly is currently in the final mentorship intensive for this type of therapy and is considered a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy Practitioner in Training. Mentorship clients are being accepted at this time.) More about PRYT

GROUP CLASSES

Yoga Classes – EveryBody’s Yoga, Yoga for Curvy Figures™, chair yoga, gentle yoga, restorative yoga, Ananda Yoga™, classic yoga and private classes. 

Somatic Ecstatic™-Kimberly’s own creation. Description TBA.

Expressive Movement and Dance - Movement and dance as awareness of self and others. Movement is guided with emotions, imagery, ideas, creativity, joy and natural bodily flows. Practiced with both an internal (moving with self) and external (moving with others) focus. A balance of self guided and facilitator guided dance. All movements are right movements. 

Creative Movement Classes - Creative movement helps the participant to explore connection to and awareness of oneself, others, community and creativity through rhythm, body awareness, use of space, sensory contrast, exploration, skill development, vocalization and sometimes choreography.  Props, instruments and movement will be used. Children, adults, families and combined programs are offered.

Move Your Meditation™ - Expressive movement and dance as meditation. Practiced with a sole internal focus. Calm the mind and reduce stress by moving the body.

YogaDance – Best described as a combo class. A joyful and active blend of gentle and classic yoga, creative movement, expressive dance, and latin dance workout. Be prepared to get your heart racing and have a blast, while enjoying an eclectic blend of music from various parts of the world! (Formerly known as Kripalu DansKinetics.)

Journey Dance-Kimberly, Founder of EveryBody Is a Dancer is a certified Journey Dance facilitator.

Custom Designed Therapeutic Movement Arts/Expressive Arts Combo Classes- A custom designed group class designed for a therapeutic purpose such as stress relief, enhancing creativity, dealing with emotions that arise from illness, raising awareness of the mind-body connection, etc. Can be custom designed for your organization to use any or all of to achieve the goal of the class: journalling, oil pastel drawing, expressive movement, dance, yoga, moving meditation, somatic movement therapy and other mind body connection techniques.

YogaEd® - Yoga and creative movement combined classes for children K-8.

YogaEd® Tools for Teachers – Breathing and other techniques for teachers K-8. These tools will teach educators personal stress reduction techniques for use in the classroom, in addition to techniques to enhance student performance.
